How the app works

Everything you need for the trip, in about five minutes.

Getting started

What this is

This is the scoring site for the trip. One phone in each group enters the scores, and everyone sees the live matches, the team score and every card as the holes are played. Try it now on the demo trip.

  • Add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
  • The first time, pick your name: Home then shows your match, and Score lists your group first.
  • The "?" at the top of any page explains that page and its rules.

Signing in

Everyone uses the same 4-digit player PIN, which Eric gives out. Or tap the sign-in link Eric texts the group: it opens the app signed in, no PIN needed. Either way you stay signed in for 30 days.

  • After five wrong PINs, sign-in locks for a short while, never more than 5 minutes.
  • Friends on the same cell network can share that lock.
  • Locked out? Text Eric and he will unlock sign-in for everyone.
  • If a link says it has expired, ask Eric for a new one or type the PIN.

Getting around

Home

Today's round, the team score and your match. While a round is being played, the live board at the top shows every match of the day.

  • Enter hole on your match card opens Score on that hole for your group. The Score tab starts at the day: pick the day, then your group.
  • Tap a match on the live board to see it hole by hole.

Score

Where your group's scorekeeper enters each hole. How it works is under On the course.

Wire

The in-round dashboard: a live feed of what just happened on the course, and the day's matches.

  • Tap All matches for every match of the day.

Board

The leaderboard. Individual ranks every player by net score to par. Teams adds up each team's net to par. That is not the Cup score: the team score on Home is.

  • Both update as scores come in.

Cards

Every player's card: gross and net, hole by hole.

  • Pick a day at the top. Every player's card is listed.

On the course

Scoring a hole

Any signed-in phone can score any group, so agree on one phone per group. If Eric assigned a scorekeeper for your group, only that phone can, after typing the 4-digit scorekeeper code Eric sends.

  • Pick the day, then your group (yours is first), and your name under Who is entering scores. Every player starts at par: use minus and plus, then tap Save hole. Anyone left at par saves as par, so check every row.
  • Made a mistake? Tap Undo right after saving, or go back to the hole and save the right score. The latest save wins.
  • No signal is fine: scores wait on your phone and send themselves later. The sync pill shows how many are waiting.
  • If two phones save different scores for the same hole, the later one is kept. Eric can fix a wrong one.

Reading a match

A match is counted in hole points: one a hole in most formats, up to two a hole in Low + Total. The "?" on the Matches page explains each format.

  • "USA 2 up thru 7" means USA has two more hole points than Europe after 7 holes. "All square thru 7" means level. A singles stroke match counts strokes instead: "USA leads by 3 strokes thru 7".
  • Once it is Final it reads "USA won 2 up" or "Halved". Only finished matches count toward the team score.
  • Tap a match on Home's live board to see it hole by hole. A gold dot means that player got a stroke on the hole.

The demo trip

Play in the sandbox

The demo trip is a copy of the 2026 trip: Thursday to Saturday are scored, and Sunday is blank, its six matches not started. Anyone signed in can enter scores, and nothing counts.

  • Score a few holes on Sunday, then Undo one.
  • Watch Home, Wire and Board move as you save.
  • Turn on airplane mode, score a hole, turn it off and watch it send.
  • It is deleted before the real trip.

After the trip

Past trips

Past trips live under Menu, then Trips. They are read only.

  • Trip recap shows every match; Scorecards (read-only) shows every card.
  • Career shows each player's records across all trips.
